Community Purpose
The L&S Teaching & Learning Liaisons are a network of departmental teaching leaders who represent their units in a college-wide community dedicated to advancing teaching excellence. Liaisons bring their department’s perspectives and experiences to the network and help colleagues within their departments engage with useful ideas, examples, connections, resources, and opportunities. The community gives departments a way to navigate opportunities and challenges together, learn from promising work across L&S, and strengthen cultures that support excellent teaching.
Role Description
- Participate. Bring your department’s perspectives, questions, successes, and challenges to the community so others can learn from them. We have meetings scheduled each month. Calendar invitations are sent via our Community Google Group.
- Take useful ideas with you. Share relevant approaches, examples, resources, connections, and opportunities with colleagues in your department.
- Support local engagement. Help colleagues engage with teaching and learning questions, opportunities, and resources that matter in your department.
Flexibility is intentional. Departments operate differently, and liaisons hold different roles and have different opportunities to contribute. No action is too small, and no liaison is expected to do this work alone. The Liaison Community and the L&S Teaching & Learning Team are here to help.
